Her Life, As She Lived It
She bent, but did not snap.
She was broke, but not broken.
She felt herself
pulled
in all directions–
stretched thin,
but not made thin.
Her plate,
already heaping,
ran over,
and she was
consumed
with the thought that time
was running out.
And it was,
but not for her.
She’d just been too
preoccupied
to notice.
